Diana K. Walls



Diana K. Walls, age 78, of Boyne City, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007, at Northern Michigan Regional Hospital.

Diana was born on August 19, 1929, in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Harold and Dorothy (Shelley) Knauss.

Diana attended Carleton College in Minnesota, graduating in 1951 with a degree in mathematics. On Sept. 11, 1954, Diana married the Rev. Milton G. "Buzz" Walls, Jr. in Storrs, Conn. She participated passionately in choirs throughout her life. She was very active with the Presbyterian Women and was a member of the Boyne City Housing Commission. Diana served on numerous church committees and lived her life in service to God.

Diana is survived by her children, James M. (Ruth) Walls and their children, Christopher and Jonathan, of Pleasant Prairie, Wis.; David P. Walls of Tucson, Ariz.; Elizabeth B. (Kurt) Cross and their children, Diana, Elizabeth, Michael and Marissa, of Redford; and Mary (Larry) Kruger and their children, Eric and Sarah, of Whitmore Lake; brother, David S. (Virginia) Knauss; and sister, Judith (Clive) Cowper. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, the Rev. Milton G. "Buzz" Walls, Jr.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, Oct. 20, at the First Presbyterian Church in Petoskey with Dr. Robert Lueck officiating.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Angel Mission of Copper Country Christian Fellowship , First Presbyterian Church of Petoskey, First Presbyterian Church of Boyne City, or the Boyne City public library.
