"It's been seven years in the making. Each year we get better and better." They were good last Thursday night, using everybody on the roster to shut out East Jordan 2-0 and improve their record to 11-3-4 overall and 8-2-2 in the Lake Michigan Conference. "Our six freshmen are playing well," Baic said. Baic believes that getting his younger players experience now will pay benefits for the Ramblers in the years to come. But on Thursday, those benefits were already starting to show as sophomore Sterling Adgate scored on an assist from Ethan Mapes at the 13-minute mark. The half ended with Boyne up 1-0, but the Ramblers added another score only 2:30 into the second half on a cross from Beau Kroondyk to Sam Jabara. Boyne threatened again several times during the remainder of the half, but were never able to get anything by East Jordan's keeper, Jordan Hagen. "Jordan played a great game," East Jordan head coach Peter Elliott said. Hagen finished the evening with 24 saves. "This was a very exciting game where both teams played hard all game," Elliott said. "I was very pleased with my players tonight as they gave their all and played well as a team." East Jordan is on the other end of the LMC standings, but they demolished Northwest Academy 8-0 last Monday and played Bellaire to a 2-1 loss last Wednesday. Justin Miller, Andew La Count, Marcelo Pastana, Andrew Boyer and Joshua Force all scored goals in those contests. "We have come very far from the beginning of the season, and the guys can be very proud of all they accomplished," Elliott said. East Jordan and Boyne City were both in District action early this week. |
