Hot Rod Chums

Pat Topolinski (left) and Boyne City Police Chief Randy Howard have shared an interest in drag racing for years. Topolinski grew up in the Boyne City and Boyne Falls area, graduating from Boyne Falls High School in 1998. He is part of the NHRA Pro Stock team with Greg Anderson who won his fifth U.S. Nationals victory in 2006. Topolinski is responsible for the clutch and transmission of a 2006 Pontiac GTO on race weekends. He was home recently for a brief overnight visit with his family. His schedule of 23 stops a year nationwide makes visits home infrequent.
