Ed Vondra is president, Dr. Richard Mansfield is vice president, Jerry Kelts remains as secretary and Ross McLane remains as treasurer. Trustees are Ken Schrader, Debra Noblett and newcomer, Bea (Billie) Reinhardt.

Reinhardt was elected by district voters in May to serve four-year term. She taught school for about 25 years in East Jordan and previously served on school boards. The board commended Ken Schrader for becoming a certified board member.

Also at the July 9 meeting, the board approved moving forward with a budgeted purchase of two lots at McKinley and First streets for the district's building trades department.

The total purchase price approved by the board is $4.5,000. The purchase awaits finalization by the seller of the lots. Students in the building trades classes learn construction skills while building houses that are then put on the market for sale.

The board decided to conduct five third-grade classes in the fall, instead of the four that were considered earlier.
