Cordell Lester Cambric, 53, did not contest a charge that he set fire to his house on Timber Ridge Trail near Boyne City on April 22. He appeared in court with his attorney, Christopher Turkelson, who entered the no contest plea on Cambric's behalf.

A charge of habitual offender was dropped from fourth offense to second offense, which is a potential 30-year felony. Another charge of arson of insured property with intent to defraud the insurance company was dismissed. Sentencing of Cambric is set for July 20 in Judge Pajtas's courtroom. A $200,000 bond continues and Cambric remains in the county jail.

Cambric's house at 2082 Timber Ridge Trail was destroyed in the fire that spread into surrounding woods. No one was injured.
