Minnie was born on May 11, 1924, the daughter of Jessie and Caroline (Mohler) Taylor. On Nov. 9, 1946, in East Jordan, she married William Gaunt Jr. He preceded her in death on May 2, 2001.

She enjoyed sewing and gardening. Minnie was a member of the Boyne City Free Methodist Church. She is survived by her son, Dave (Sherry) Gaunt and her daughter, Joanne (James C. Jr.) Nicloy, all of East Jordan;grandchildren, Heidi (Tom) Birkenbach of Paw Paw, Karmen (Harold) Herriman of East Jordan, Jason Gaunt of Paw Paw and Kristina (James) McCallum of Petoskey;and great-grandchildren, Alex and Emma Herriman. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Louis;and two sisters, Alice and Helen.

The family received friends on Wednesday at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc. in East Jordan. Memorials may be given to the Grandvue Medical Care Facility.
