Cordell Lester Cambric, 53, of 2082 Timber Ridge Trail was arrested by the Charlevoix County Sheriff's Office on May 22, and charged with three counts. Count one is arson of a dwelling, a 20-year felony; count two is arson of insured property, a 10-year felony; and count three is a charge of habitual offender. Past convictions are for burglary and possession of controlled substances.

A preliminary examination is set in Charlevoix county for June 5, when it will be determined if probable cause exists to try Cambric on the charges in circuit court. A $200,000 bond was set.

The April 22 fire destroyed the house and spread into the surrounding wooded area. No injuries were reported. Boyne City Fire Department, Michigan Department of Natural Resources, Charlevoix Township Fire Department and Boyne Valley Fire Department were all involved in fighting the blaze.
