Rose was born on Oct. 11, 1933, in Johnston City, Ill., the daughter of Frank and Albaiana (Dolence) Stritzel. She grew up in Highland Park and later married James Daniels on March 28, 1953, in Highland Park. After raising five children, a long time dream of moving to Northern Michigan came true with a move to Boyne Falls. She was later employed at Allied Signal (now Honeywell). After seventeen years she retired in 1996.

She enjoyed retirement bowling, gardening, puzzles and relaxing with friends and family. Rose was also a member of the Jaycees Auxiliary. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra L. Meredith of Maryland, Janet (Ben) Sizemore of North Carolina; sons, James R. Daniels of Redford, Edward M. (Nancy) Daniels of Boyne City and Eric N. (Terry) Daniels of Boyne City; grandchildren, Michelle (Henry) Wilkerson of Virginia, Michael (Paula) Meredith of Arizona, David E. Meredith of Maryland, Thomas B. Meredith of Maryland, Ben Jr. (Tina) Sizemore of Virginia, Troy Sizemore of California, Jennifer Sizemore of Baltimore, Carrie A. (fiancŽ Josh Gregware) Daniels of East Jordan, Jessica M. Daniels of East Jordan, James R. Daniels of Ypsilanti, Stewart C. Chipman of North Carolina and Trevor D. Lorton of Boyne City; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Frank (Charlotte) Stritzel of Flagler Beach, Florida and Charles (Carol) Rautio of Oltio.

Rose is preceded in death by her parents and former husband, James Daniels.

A memorial service was held Friday, March 2, at Stackus Funeral Home in Boyne City. Pastor David Behling officiated.
