John was born on Aug. 15, 1917, in Boyne City, the son of George and Marie (Guine) Wuerth. John grew up in Boyne City and graduated from Boyne City High School. He later married Betty Moreau on Dec. 28, 1943, in Clarion.

John enjoyed wood carving, fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his daughters, Betty Marie Miller of Petoskey and Ruth Ann (Mike) Osmun of Onaway; granddaughter, Angie (Dennis) Mousseau of Petoskey; great-grandchildren, Reilly and Logan; brothers, Clyde Wuerth of Boyne City, George Jr. ÒHawnÓ Wuerth of Boyne City and Norman (Marge) Wuerth of Dearborn.

John is preceded in death by his parents; wife Betty in 1975, and brother, Weller Wuerth.

A visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 1, at Stackus Funeral Home.

Burial will take place this spring at Maple Hill Cemetery in Clarion.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to AlzheimerÕs Association.
