Memorial gets a face lift

BOYNE CITY - About 10 years ago the park behind Dairy Queen had a memorial with the plaques of Boyne City residents who served in World War II. Over time the once attractive monuments slowly started to fall apart.

Elsenheimer drops court run, picks up campaign for 105th

Hetler Contributing Writer CHARLEVOIX COUNTY - Republican candidates for the 105th District seat in the state Legislature are dropping right and lef . . ., well, right anyway, with the word from Rep. Kevin Elsenheimer that he is running for his seat after all. Elsenheimer, R-Bellaire, announced in late March that he was a candidate for the Michigan Court of Appeals and would not seek re-election to the Legislature. But on Saturday, May 3, it was learned that he is withdrawing from the run for the Court of Appeals and is now a candidate for a third term in the state House.
